 Wondertouch particleIllusion 3.0 (part 3)

What I want to do now is to change width and height of the area where the special effect will be active, an easy way to do it is first to click on the select tool on the main toolbar. Then you will notice that there is a little grey dot on the bottom right corner of the special effect area on the stage.

By just dragging that corner you will be able to resize it manually. I just want the special effect to be active above the text area like you can see on the picture below.  You can also select the "width" and "height" properties by selecting them in the hierarchy window on the left and modifying their values in the graph window at the bottom, but dragging the corner is easier in this case.

Changing the parameters

changing the colors

The first thing that we want to do is to change the general color of the effect, in order to do that you need to right click on the effect in the hierarchy window and to select Properties. The first color we want to change is the color of the sparkles.

In the new window select sparkles and in the right panel click on the Color tab.

I have changed the original default gradient of the sparkles to something more in line with my original graphic.

You add steps to the gradient by clicking anywhere on the gradient area. To remove a step just select it and click on the little red cross.

You can also adjust the brightness of each color by moving the white to black slider.

The preview window should show something like below.

changing the aspect and properties

Since I just want to use the sparkly effect let start by turning the line effect off. From the Emitter properties panel click on the little + sign in front of the "lines" particles item to expand the properties tree.

Then select visiblity. Now in the timeline area drag the the key position to the bottom down to 0 tomake the "lines" effect invisible. There are other ways to do this: use the "delete particle type" button below the hierarchy, clicking on the little star icon next to the word "lines" to
toggle this particle type off, setting the "number" of particles to 0, etc.
