MDM Zinc 3.0 (Pandora) beta preview

MDM is about to release the new version of the successful SWFtoEXE software Zinc. I had a chance to install the beta and have written a quick preview of what is in stock for us mighty Flash developers.

If you are looking for a job as a Flash developer or in IT in general you might find this little application handy. I initially created it for myself with Flash and MDM Zinc but I thought that some of you might find it useful. It is lighter than a google gadget and does the job nicely. It will return by default any contract position in the UK advertised on jobserve during the last 24 hours associated with the keyword "actionscript" but you can create your own search on jobserve and enter your own RSS link in the application. Flash CS3 is out and Actionscript 3.0 is on its way to your screen, well it's not a really a big surprise, Flash 9 and Flex have been available in their alpha and beta version for a while before their official releases and many flash developers had the opportunity to get their hands dirty with Actionscript 3.0.

If you are looking to create fancy effects for your Flash games or Flash intros you have many options. Special effects can be created in Flash with actionscript but it can be a lengthy process if you are not an actionscript guru, you can also use a 3D application but the learning curve is quite steep.There is alternative solutions, Wondertouch particleIllusion 3.0 could be one of them.
